Interviews
I had received a phone call asking me to find and interview Misty from' Life is Not One Big Joke.' As a fellow Connecticut resident, and close relation I knew I had not far to search, or so I thought. So with a mission at hand I set off on my journey.
I searched high and low, upstate and down state, night and day but to no avail. Misty was no where to be found, not a word nor trail, she was gone......

It was my final day, with my bags packed I set off on one last quest. As I was driving I saw an old wooden sign barely visible through the matted cobwebs 'Fortunes 5 Dollars.' So with nothing to lose I pulled in......
Upon entering an old decrepit woman approached me, she must have been 100 years old and the place smelled of it.
The woman grabbed my hands and said come I know what you seek. As we gazed upon her magic crystal she told me of a beautiful woman and where I might find her and the woman gave me a box of Cordials Dark chocolate covered cherries, and said you will be needing these......

I set off driving once again traveling through the never ending winding roads of Connecticut. Deep within the woods within the many hills I came upon a quaint little cabin tucked away from society. Could this be it I thought have I found Misty......?

AS I approached the cabin door with chocolates in hand, my heart raced with anticipation. Would she be there, would she see me if she was? I nervously knocked at the door and moment later it opened. It was Misty, and she was Beautiful!! Misty said Hello Sole I'm glad to see you and I see you brought my favorite, please come in......
I explained I was here to interview her for the blogger, she graciously accepted and so we began......
Sole: 'What brought you to Blogstream, and what did you hope to get out of it?'
Misty.... 'The need to breathe. When I first came to Blogstream I had no idea how it worked. I saw that there were thousands of blogs here and thought the chances of anyone reading what I wrote was close to none......but I was wrong.'

Sole: ' Misty in creating your identity what aspects of your person do you hope to convey to the readers?'
MISTY.... 'Sole...I never thought of creating an identity when I came to the Stream. It was never about being recognized or being read. The thought of being on the most popular blog list never even entered my mind. I posted for months without ever venturing past the confines of my own blog. I suppose you could say Misty came in search of her own identity and evolved into whatever she is today ....what that is I have no idea. (LOL) '

Sole: 'How or why did you pick the name of your blog?'
Misty... 'You know me Sole and my warped sense of humor. The name came from the Richard Pryor's movie 'Moving' In which he said 'Life is not one big joke it is a series of little jokes waiting to smack you down.'
Sole: 'Speaking of life, What is the greatest lesson life has taught you?'
MISTY... 'To be careful what you wish for.....God has one 'WICKED' sense of humor.'

Sole: 'Misty if you knew the world would end in one week, what would you have left to accomplish?'
MISTY.... 'To experience the love I know exists but have never found.'
Sole: 'Ok on a lighter note, What do you feel you bring to the stream?'
Misty....'Well after I discovered that I was not alone here lol, I decided to keep with the theme and post some of 'Life’s Little Jokes' you know the kind of jokes that life throws at you that although their not really funny if you didn't laugh at them you'd end up crying. Just making the best of a bad situation.'
At this point Misty asked if I would like to accompany her to a place very special to her. She explained that she would take me to a place where she goes when she needs to collect her thoughts...

We approached the most beautiful pond surrounded by the calming trees dressing in their new fall colors.
We came too a cozy bench swing over looking the water and we continued...

Sole: 'How do you feel the streams changed since you began'
MISTY.... 'This is only my opinion ... I feel the Stream used to be more close knit we were like a big family. You could joke and fool around without worrying who you were going to offend or whose feelings were going to get hurt. Now I feel like I'm walking on thin ice and censor almost everything I post. For me this has been very difficult. I hate the friction I see that goes on and this is basically why I have been gone as long as I have. I figured it would pass and still have hopes that it will. I have seen the Stream 'Shine' and have faith that it can and will again. But then I have always been somewhat of a dreamer. I'm not sure who opened Pandora’s Box but I wish the hell they would shut it!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Sole: 'What do you feel is your biggest character weakness?'
MISTY.... 'I suppose it would be the inability to reach out and touch someone. I imagine a lot of people on the Stream would be scratching their heads right now saying .....'WHAT?' But in real life I am shy, quiet and spend most of my time in my own little world. Wow...did I just say that? Sole...you’re really going to owe me BIG time for this interview....lol.'

I Laughed and said 'I'll send more Chocolates!!!'
Sole: 'What might we find you doing in your spare time?'
Misty....'I enjoy the magic of nature Sole. Rock climbing, hiking, white water river rafting, losing my kids in the woods lol, horseback riding, waterfalls, and the seduction of the ocean. Motorcycles and speed in any form I can get it lol.'

Sole: ' What was the most pivotal event in your life or generation?'
MISTY: 'I guess it would have been when I looked death straight in the face and realized life could cease to exist in an instant in the hands of a madman.'

Sole: 'What 5 CD's are currently in your player?'
Misty... 'Pink Floyd, Journey, Moody Blues, Alan Parsons and the Traffic.'
Sole: 'What is your Favorite alcoholic beverage?'
Misty.... 'Although I'm not a drinker, I would have to say Kahlua and Cream'
Sole: 'What is your most embarrassing moment you remember?'
Misty.... 'Sole there have been so many embarrassing moments I could write a book. One that stands out in my mind is when the 'Little One' discovered his first swear word. I think most parents have experienced this humiliation. Any way we were in Stop and Shop and I was standing next to a black man dressed in a suit very professional looking. The 'Little One' just old enough to say maybe two words at a time comes out with F**K You. I never changed my expression and pretended this just didn't happen. When I felt the eyes of this man burning a hole through my head. Very indignant he leaned over to me and said 'What did he just say?' and me being the sweet innocent person I am looked at him and said 'He said love you.' The man apologized profusely 'I'm so embarrassed, please forgive me I thought he said something else...I don't know what I was thinking.' I kept a straight face and gave him a confused kind of look like I had no idea what he was talking about and he turned and walked away. Just then the Little One yells out 'F**K YOU.' The sound of my hand being slapped over his mouth to muffle his voice was deafening. Slowly I turned my head with my hand still over his mouth to find the gentleman at a dead standstill looking back with a smile on his face......and such is one of Life’s Little Jokes as I laughed till I cried.'

Sole: 'What is your nationality or Ethnic background?'
MISTY.... 'Italian'...with exception of my hair and eyes they have to be Irish. Lol'

sole: 'What was the last book you read?'
MISTY......'The Unquiet Dead by Dr. Edith Fiore, which was recommended to me by Dragonflower'

sole: 'What is your middle name?'
MISTY.....'Lynn'
sole: 'What is your favorite word?'
MISTY .......'Chocolate, dark-chocolate'

Sole: 'What is your least favorite word?'
MISTY ......'That’s an easy one, MONDAY'

Sole (laughing) 'Speaking of laughing, When was the last time a blog made you laugh and the last blog that a blog made you cry?'
MISTY.... 'I would have to say yesterday for the laugh......That kid on Night Owls profile page cracks me up. Whenever I feel the need for a smile I stop in and visit him lol. As for crying ummmm Sole you have posted a few that has brought tears to my eyes, Decorous rips my heart out, but the last would have had to been this weekend at Wild Pigs UK.....My Brother Died Of A Drug Overdose.'
Sole: 'What turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?'
MISTY....'Love'

Sole: 'Describe to us your greatest dream?'
MISTY....'A world where everyone could just get along. Where there would be no hatred, abuse, hunger or suffering................'

Sole: 'What turns you off?'
MISTY....'deceit, denial and betrayal are my biggest turn offs.'

Sole: 'What is your favorite curse word?'
Misty....'I'm not sure I have a favorite they all have their appropriate time and place lol'

Sole: 'If you could choose a superpower Misty, which would you choose?'
MISTY.... 'Invisibility....... (LOL)'

Sole: 'What sound or noise do you love?'
Misty.......'I love the sound of the Wind'

Sole: 'What sound or noise do you hate?'
Misty.....'The sound of Anger'

sole: 'What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?'
Misty.... 'I would love to be a Storm Chaser.'
That sounds truly exciting Misty, and what a way to live!! Looking at one of Misty's many animals I asked.....

Sole: 'If you could be any animal what would you be and why?'
Misty....'A Raven, I would never want to be limited to walking the earth when I could soar on the winds....’

Sole: 'What profession would you not like to do?'
MISTY....'I would not like to be an Embalmer.'

Sole: 'If Heaven exists, what would you like God to say to you when you arrive?'
Misty.....'You were right Misty I do have a sense of humor'

sole: 'What 5 bloggers you want to meet?'
MISTY....'Well being I have already met you Sole I would have to say Hailey, Abby and Chells that’s all one family counts as one right? Mouse, Dragonflower, Dixie, T, Al, Bella and everyone else I have a bond with......I hope you know who you are.'

Sole: 'If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you like go?'
Misty....' I would love to go to the deepest jungles of Africa.'

With the moon on the horizon, I explained that I must be getting home. We shared one final smile, glanced at each other and with a tear in my eye we hugged, I realizing what a magical soul sitting in front of me, and how much better myself and the rest of world is by knowing Misty!! Life is not one joke, but a series of smaller ones just waiting to smack you down if you let them!! Misty you can shine on as long as you need too, I and the rest of the stream will be here awaiting your return. It is a lonelier place without you my friend, My Mother I love you.........
