The Library Cat

A Rose By Any Other Name

Juliet: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet."                         Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

By now, if you follow my blog on a regular basis you'll know I changed my I.D. name from Bookworm to L.Cat.  While it will take some getting used to (for all of us), it just makes sense to me to make the change.

When I first joined the Stream,  I was going to call myself the Library Cat  (L.C. or L.Cat for short).  I hadn't quite decided on the name of the blog.  Somehow the name Cat House had different connotations than I wanted to project.  So the blog became the Library Cat.  I had accidently filled in Bookworm for my user name.  Thus my Bookworm personna was born.

When I joined the Stream, I didn't check to see if if anyone was using the Bookworm name.  It turns out there had been.  In fact, there have been four others who have used BW as their name. Two before I joined and two after used the glorious moniker Bookworm. They haven't continued on the Stream. Over on QuestionStream, the same thing has happened.  Confusion sometimes reigns over who is posting or answering questions.  I'll change my user name over there too.

After my "inner techie" stumbled on the way to change names without deactivating and starting a new blog, I decided the time was right.  Bookworm changed into L.Cat as he was meant to be all along. My blog won't change.  It will still be humor, funny pictures, books, libraryland happenings, videos, music, a little religion, rants.  trivia, and of course The Blogger Inquirer.

BTW, my "neglected blog" Bookworm's Book Shelf will have a title change in the near future.  I'm just not sure what it's going to be.  Any suggestions?

 Name Change

Just when you thought it was safe to be on the Stream...blog monsters got the bookworm.  No...I'm not deactivating but it's time to change my moniker.  The bookworm moniker was actually an accident anyway.

From this day forward, my new name is L.Cat or LC.  Since I post so much cat stuff, it seemed to be the appropiate time.

 Natalie

The Madam opened the brothel door and saw a frail,
elderly gentleman. "Can I help you" the madam asked?

"I want Natalie," the old man replied.
"Sir, Natalie is one of our
most expensive ladies,
perhaps someone else..."
"No," said the man,"I must see Natalie."

Just then Natalie appeared and announced to the old man that she
charges $1,000 per visit. Without blinking, the man reached into
his pocket and handed her ten $100 bills. The two went up to a
room for an hour, afterwhich the man calmly left.

The next night he appeared again demanding to see Natalie. The madam
explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row and that
there were no discounts. It was still $1,000 a visit. Again the old man
took out the money and the two went up to the room.

When he showed up the third consecutive night, no one could believe it.
Again he handed Natalie the money and up to the room they went.
At the end of the hour Natalie questioned the old man:

"No one has services three nights in a row. Where are you from?"

The old man replied, "I'm from Philadelphia."

"Really?" replied Natalie "I have family who lives there."

"Yes, I know," said the old man. "Your father died, and I'm your
sister's attorney. She asked me to give you this $3,000.
